Amativo is a cuvee of Primitivo ( 60% ) and Negroamaro ( 40% ). It offers the best of both grapes, which are growing in Guagnano near Lecce and San Pietro near Brindisi. The wine rests for 10 months in barrique casks and has a rich rubyred colour. The Amativo has a complex bouquet of roses and violets. When aging you can smell fruit of the wood, dried figs, jam, vanilla and tar. The harmonious scent repeats itself on the palate. It develops into a delicate finale with tinges of fruit and spices. Amativo may me kept for 5 years. Alcoholic content 14,5%. Good with lamb, smoked meat, game and pasta with meat sauce.
