Fumin is an ancient autochtonous grape from Vallee d'Aoste ( Aosta valley ). The Fumin grape has a very dark colour and gets bluish while ripening. The grapes are harvested late. They are left to mature for 12 months in kegs and casks of various kind of wood. Fumin has an intense, vivid and crimson colour with lilac reflections. In the age the colur changes into rubyred. The La Crotta di Vegneron Fumin has a long lasting scent. One is able to find aromas of vanilla, white pepper, clove, liqourous and musk. In addition you sense delicate tinges of cherry. Fumin is a warm and dry red wine, with a full, smooth and elegant taste. Good with red meat and ripened cheese.
