The Barbera vine has high acidity like the Nebbiolo vine. But in comparison to Nebbiolo it needs warmer locations. Francones vineyards Tetti and Bricco are situated in the Neive community, the Rocca vineyard in the La Morra community. Only the best grapes are used to produce the pure Barbera d'Alba I Patriarchi. The colour of the wine is rubyred with a tendency into crimson. With ageing it gets garnet red flashes. The Francone Barbera d'Alba has a vinious bouquet with hints of flowers and fresh fruit. A well balanced and dry taste convinces the friend of Piemont wines. Alcoholic content 13%.
Food pairings: cooked meat, grilled meat, game, chicken and ripe cheese.
