2005 Barbaresco DOCG

The Barbaresco DOCG gets its name from the Barbaresco community near the Tanaro river. The Barbaresco of Antichi Poderi dei Gallina grows on the Gallina I Ciaciaret vineyard in the Neive community. The wine is made purely of the Nebbiolo grape and shows its dark ganret red colour with the orange tone which gets stronger while ageing. Antichi Poderi dei Gallina Barbaresco has a seducing bouquet of violet, liquorice and a touch of vanilla. The wine smells dark and and is warm at the nose. You sense wood, but not very dominant. The Barbaresco give a long delight with a berry undertone and a nice fruit. Long finish with toasted herbs, rosemary and cinnamon. Alcoholic content 13,5%. Good with roast dishes, roast beef, grilled meat and ripe cheese.
